The challenges of the next UN Biodiversity Summit (COP11, India)

In a few weeks time, in October 2012, the 11th UN Biodiversity Conference in Hyderabad (India) will have to look at the best way to implement the Access and Benefit Sharing Protocol and turn it into a successful and efficient tool against biopiracy.

Our conference Thursday afternoon looked at how the challenge of fighting against biopiracy will be tackled, and whether measures on resource mobilisation will live up to the high expectations.

PA – Harrisburg: Capitol Complex – Finance Building
finance

The Finance Building, at North 7th and North Streets, was built in 1939. Bookending the Soldiers Grove Mall with the Forum Office Building, it was the last building to be completed in the original Capitol Complex. It is home to the Pennsylvania Department of Treasury and the Treasury Investment Center.

The Pennsylvania Capitol Grounds, officially the Capitol Park, bounded by North Street on the north, 7th Street on the east, Walnut Street on the south and 3rd Street on the west, comprises 45 acres. Arnold Brunner designed the layout of the grounds, which originally totaled only 15 acres from the land Harris and Maclay gave to the state. The remaining 29 acres were added when the state bought the Eighth Ward.
